HEALTH NEWS!

"Sitting is more dangerous than smoking” for your health according to Dr. James Levine.

Let’s STAND UP for health!

Quick Tip:

"If I STAND rather than sit, I will burn 200 more calories/day or 1400/week.
That’s 40% of my goal to reach weight loss of 1 pound/week (which adds up!) with this one simple fix."

Stand up for YOUR Health!

To find out your calorie deficit for standing versus sitting, go to http://www.juststand.org/tabid/637/default.aspx
There you will find a handy calculator to determine what you have to lose!

Ready for change?

It's good to know, small changes stick.

It doesn’t take a major lifestyle shift to reach your goals and in fact, if  you make big changes quickly,
you’re more likely to revert back to your prior status in a relatively short period of time.

Making a small shift like deciding to stand at your desk as opposed to sitting for part of your work day is a perfect way to begin making healthy changes.

Every little bit counts.

“Begin with the end in mind”

Stephen Covey said something years ago that stuck with me over the years:  “Begin with the end in mind”

To begin, write down goals (your end point) & commit them to paper.

This gives you a 50% better chance of achievement!

Be committed.
Write down your health goals.

Here are a few suggestions for after you've made your decision to improve your health:

Do whatever it takes!

Rearrange schedules & priorities. Make it happen.

This IS YOUR LIFE, after all.

Make YOU a priority!

What’s your biggest obstacle? No time? No energy? More pressing things to do?

FACT: Those who are less likely to succeed are merely interested in good health.

Interested people do whatever is convenient.

They procrastinate, use excuses, and allow the past or present to drive whatever they do.

They are not focused on the future or the results today's habits will create.

Are you interested or COMMITTED to your health?

Make your commitment – or begin again by recommitting now.

Write your goals down on paper; put them where you can see them daily.

This is where the genius part of your brain comes into play.

Your brain will see in present moment your goals and make your intention to get you there a whole lot easier.
